Anyone who will drive up to the city from the water will see two Kashiras: standing above the water and its reflection. Actions, stories, thoughts of one Kashira were mirrored in the another for many years. The two cities continuously looked into each other's eyes and existed for each other.
Today, the historical significance of the river in the life of Kashira is undeservedly forgotten. The Oka is perceived exclusively as a "natural border of the city." The architectural and planning concept of the Oka river embankment and the recreation area returns the river to people, and to the city its beautiful reflection.
The idea of "reflection" formed the basis of the improvement project. The mirror-like surface of the water, in which Kashira is reflected, shows what the audience, otherwise, could not see: the details of the clouds in the sky, the glare on the domes of the temples, the play of shades in the nature of the old Russian city. The fast current of the Oka “reflects” the ringing of bells for many years and carries it for kilometers from Kashira.
The architectural and planning concept of the Oka River Embankment and the recreational area includes special mirror surfaces and objects that allow one to fully enjoy the surrounding landscape. Reflected on them, things that we usually cannot achieve become closer and give us the opportunity to consider them in detail, to look at them in a new way.
The reflection is the same picture, even if it exists only for a moment.
