PROJECT IDEA
Project for the improvement of the Central Railway Station Square in Serpukhov, 2018
The project proposes to form the space of the Central Railway Station Square with two pedestrian zones.
The pedestrian space in the northern part of the square is a multifunctional zone with a monument to Dmitry Donskoy and his brother, Vladimir the Brave (the founder of the city of Serpukhov). In this area, one can get acquainted with the history of the city. It is surrounded by green spaces, trees, landscape groups. Water and shade from trees will allow residents and guests of the city to relax while waiting for a bus or electric train. The inner rectangular area and the outer perimeter of the entire area are made of paving stones, and paving slabs are used in the remaining space.
The southern part of the Central Railway Station Square should become a "green oasis". The project proposes to enrich it with flower beds, plant trees and shrubs on it. The Garden of Time will become a place of beauty and climatic comfort for people.
A separate section, formed by the intersection of Voroshilov Street and two directions of Sovetskaya Street, is proposed to be used as a well-maintained car parking park.
The project combines all of the above mentioned areas with each other due to a single pedestrian axis leading directly to the stairs leading to the platforms of the railway station. Organized pedestrian traffic saturates the space of the Central Railway Station Square, creating a comfortable and well-organized environment for citizens and guests of the city.
